Airborne and Ground Geophysics
SINCE 2007, GEOSAN HAS BEEN CONDUCTING AIRBORNE MAGNETIC AND RADIOMETRIC SURVEYS. THE COMPANY'S TWO CESSNA GRAND CARAVANS CAN BE OUTFITTED AND CUSTOMIZED FOR THE MISSION AND THE CLIENT'S NEEDS.

The Forefront of Technology and Innovation
What is Geophysical Survey?
Geophysical survey is the systematic collection of geophysical data for spatial studies. Geophysical surveys may use a great variety of sensing instruments, and data may be collected from above or below the Earth’s surface or from aerial, orbital, or marine platforms.

Geophysical surveys have many applications in Earth science, archaeology, mineral and energy exploration, oceanography, and engineering. Geophysical surveys are used in industry as well as for academic research.

Methods of Survey
Airborne Geophysical Survey
Airborne geophysical surveying is the process of measuring variations in several key physical or geochemical parameters of the Earth. Our company has successfully completed over 70 airborne geophysical projects throughout Mongolia.

The most crucial parameters measured include conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, rock density, radioactive element concentration, and reflectance spectra. Any change in the Earth’s near-surface that induces a measurable shift in these parameters presents a potential application for airborne geophysics.

The systems employed to measure these parameters are gamma-ray spectrometry and magnetic.
Airborne geophysics consistently leads technological developments and innovation. Modern exploration systems can detect minute changes in the geophysical properties of the Earth with highly sensitive instruments and advanced survey platforms.

Exploration projects utilize GPS navigation and timing, laser and radar altimeters, satellite communications, and innovative data processing techniques. Geophysicists then interpret the final data using cutting-edge imaging and modelling software.

Applications include mineral exploration and mining operations, hydrocarbon exploration, groundwater and environmental mapping, geothermal exploration, and mapping of geological structure and lithology for a variety of civil engineering and mining applications.
Gravity Survey
Geosan introduced the first micro gal reading CG-5 Gravity 3 units in Mongolia.
We did 1:200000 scale gravity mapping on the majority of Mongolia’s vast territory and reprocessing of old gravity data.
Applications of Gravimetric Survey include regional geological mapping, petroleum exploration, coal exploration, mineral exploration, geotechnical studies, tectonic studies and geothermal studies.
Radiometric Survey: Ground & Vehicle-Borne
Ground and Vehicle borne radiometric could be used as etalon for airborne spectrometry data processing, but those instruments could be used as independent survey tools as well.
The Gamma-Ray Spectrometry survey maps potassium, uranium, and thorium concentrations at the Earth’s surface.
We are using SAIC/Exploranium systems (GR-320 Portable Spectrometer, GR-460 Vehicle Radiation Monitoring system) for the gamma-ray spectrometry survey.
The GR-460 is an integrated Radiation Monitoring system that can be deployed for Vehicle use for local area mapping and source location. In the vehicle, the system automatically scans radiation data and stores full SPECTRUM data and GPS position data in the computer system.
Magnetic Survey
The Magnetometer GSM-19TW is for the measurement of the Earth’s magnetic field and location (GPS), having <0.1 nT sensitivity, 0.01 resolution and 1 nT (+/- 0.5 nT) absolute accuracy over its full temperature range. Applications include geological mapping, mining, fault location, archaeology, and magnetic search.
Borehole Loggin Survey
Six borehole logging crews are available simultaneously.
Geophysical borehole logging involves measuring the physical properties of the surrounding medium with a sensor located in a borehole and it can provide highly accurate information about subsurface properties.
We are using Mount Sopris Borehole Geophysical Logging Systems. Digital Borehole logging systems with the safest USA-made sources provide valuable information to our coal, uranium and other minerals explorers that are quality controlled with modern powerful software.
